Due to the oversight, of my manufacturer, they did not set my "tension" correctly as this UV 48" umbrella normally would have "snapped" open and held up under 35 -40 mile winds.

However, these umbrellas will stay opened under normal to high wind conditions. It does not take away from the extraordinary UV sun protection and the carbon fiber quality.

If one so chooses to make their 48" UV umbrella stay opened under the strongest of winds and rain, it is my suggestion that you can buy a clamp to set in place or drill a hole, in the top portion and add a removable pin. Attach this to the handle string for easy access.

Again, you can purchase any 50+ UV umbrella that is Government approved, for $38.00 on up. My UV umbrellas is Doctor and Dermatologist recommended and other UV Protection Businesses are not.

Please, don't let this discourage you from making a purchase. It's the best UV blockage that money can buy but more importantly you are safer and much cooler under this UV sun protection umbrella.
